In July 2021 we were able to play New World again and much has done. So new weapons, new areas, the first dungeons and a new PVP mode were added. Overall, New World has changed more to a theme park MMORPG.

How is it going on after the release? Between the last test in July and the release in September there should be no changes to gameplay and content. The focus is on bugfixes and the server structure.

However, we already know how it should go on after the release. Among other things, new weapons, dungeons and options are planned in the character creation: so it should continue with New World after the release.

What does New World offer everything?

New World will be an open-world MMO in which three factions are fighting for control of areas on the Fictive Island Aesternum. There is a settlement in each area. Here the players can even build their own homes. Three are the fortresses that can be fought.

From an earlier interview with Meinmmo we know that the game world will be huge thanks to the server technology from Amazon. How exactly the world is built up, we will find out in the first public tests.

The latest information also confirms many new PVE content, adaptations at the combat system and new opportunities for character development. We would like to introduce you to this content in more detail below.

The factions in New World

What kind of factions is there? In New World you will join one of three fractions:

• Marauder - a faction reminiscent of pirates. Here is a lot about freedom, instead of power.
• Covenant - these are crosswitter, which focus on the fight against evil and the Corrupted.
• Syndicate - a faction of alchemists who lay their focus on potions and magic.

The more missions and tasks you do for the faction, the better your call will be there. With a higher call you come to special rewards, which only offers the group. However, no group of others should be playfully superior, but the focus is on their own preferences.

The PVP in New World

What does New Word in the PVP? Focus on the PVPs are the battles about fortresses that can consist of up to 50VS50 people. Enemy fortresses can be attacked and conquered. On the other hand, your own fortresses you have to defend.

Fighting for fortresses take place in a shielded area and a scenario:

The PVE in New World

The Story of New World

What about Lore? Fate leads one on the eternal island Aeternum, which is located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The island is a magical place, since only there is a mineral that gives an immortality.

If the mineral is used incorrectly, corruption arises. That happens if you use it from greed and a personal advantage, if you want to live forever. Used in the natural form, it seems more bluish. If it corrupts, it turns into red.

This is how the story is told: The story is not told in Cutscenes, but about the environment. It will be about to find book pages, of people who were already there or about NPCs who tell you their experiences.

Classes and Gameplay in New World

What is the Fighting System of New World? The MMO relies on an action combat system and not on Tab Targeting. You must take your enemies directly into sight. Positioning game will play a big role in New World. The combat system should provide a mix of Dark Souls and Wow.

The focus is also the feeling while fighting. So you should feel the physical reactions when attacking opponents or attacked by them.

Compared to the first alpha, the combat system should be faster and less punishable. The original endurance strip that restricted the number of strokes was removed.

What makes the weapons in New World especially? In New World you will create several weapons sets and switch between them in combat. This should increase the dynamics and give you more flexibility. So you can attack the opponent from afar with the bow and as soon as you reach you on a sword.

Old New World Vs. New World New World

The MMO New World has made a big conversion. Due to the feedback in the first alpha, big changes have been made.

What was New World earlier? Originally, New World was planned as a sandbox MMO. The focus was on:

• Survival elements such as hunger and thirst, which should not be fatal, but only limiting

What is New World Current? In the new alignment, other contents are focused on the focus. The pure sandbox has dropped away and new MMO features have been installed:

• There is no pvp coercion anymore, it is now optional
• The survival elements were removed
• There will be more PvE content. The focus is even slightly more on the PVE as a PVP

How do the players react to the new New World?

With us on Meinmmo, many players were enthusiastic about the revision of New World at the beginning of 2020. It was one of the big MMO hopes for 2020. That had several reasons:

• Players are hungry for new PVE MMOS
• New World offers a fresh scenario
• Player trust Amazon too
• The release was already very close

On the other hand, there are also fears that the PVE part could be too thin and real PVP fans do not come to their costs due to the changes.
