SPLITGATE: Popularity on PlayStation rises thanks to Halo Infinite

PlayStation players do not logically enjoy the latest part of the series due to the exclusivity of Halo Infinite.

The successful launch of Halo Infinite but, according to Ian Proud from 1047 games, caused a rising player numbers on PlayStation. Apparently, the players are looking for a similar arena shooter there. Split gate therefore seems to have hit his Halo's portal concept exactly hit into the black.

Ian Proud of 1047 games said:

I'm really glad that [Halo Infinite] has come out. Honestly, I honestly believe that Halo Infinite and Split gate will help each other in the long term. I think there is currently so much noise and so many Battle-Royale games, and [these two games] bring people to the genre of the arena shoo over. There are many kids who have never played Halo, right? There are many kids that have never played Quake or Unreal Tournament. You just never played this kind of game. And I think it's good for the entire genre when you come into contact with it.

Despite the similarities in both games you want to establish your own identity for split gate.

PlayStation Gamers Are Playing More SplitGate Since Halo Infinite Released On Xbox

One of the things we really want to do is to establish our own art style. I think the art style of split gate is a mixture of Halo and Portal, and that also applies to the brand. I think for a small indie game without marketing budget was incredibly effective — it was just a very concise way to wake the interest of people, but that's not what we want. We want to establish something where you know that it is split gate and not just a fairly well-made game in the style of Halo.

The free-to-play shooter SILICATE is also available for Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One. In the Microsoft Store you can download the game for free.
