Open Beta to Diablo 2 Resurrected starts soon - so start the preload and be there
At the weekend, the Open Beta starts in Diablo 2 resurrected and let you play for three days for free in the remake. As you can play and what the beta offers, we reveal from Meinmmo here.
When starts the beta? The open beta of Diablo 2 Resurrected starts on August 20 at 19:00 and runs until the 23rd of August at 19 o'clock. A preload is available from 17 August, so as soon as the closed beta comes to an end. So you can already download the almost 25 GB and get started on Friday at point.
How can you join in? The Open Beta is available for PC, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Playstation 5 and PlayStation 4. The Nintendo Switch version comes first to the release of the game on September 23.
To participate in the Open Beta, you need the online service of your respective platform, even if you just want to play the single player. PSPLUS, Xbox Live or Battle.net are therefore mandatory for the beta.
If you are equipped with it, you can easily download the beta from the 17th of August and play on August 20th.
What can you play in the Open Beta? In the beta, not the entire game is available, you can only play the first two file of the games and only 5 of the 7 classes. These 5 classes are there:
- The druid
- The barbarian
- The sorceress
- The Amazon
- The paladin
So necromant and assassinous players have to be patient to be able to put themselves into the fight at the end of September with their favorite classes.
What progress is transferred? Have you already played the Closed Beta or Early Access Beta, you can continue to play in the Open Beta, where you have stopped. But no progress can be done in the finished game.
By the way, CrossSplay does not exist despite the wide availability, neither in the beta nor in the final release.

Technical problems at the start
What problems existed? Already since August 13, selected fans Diablo 2 can play resurrected, but the first beta had to start technical problems. In addition, lobbies are missing on the consoles, which is one of the biggest criticisms.
Many players were disappointed that the servers did not stand the rush. Others told them that one had to expect a beta with technical problems. Just to the start many users could not even connect, or had to fight with massive lags.
It remains to be seen if Blizzard gets the problems until the start of the Open Beta.
What does the community say? In terms of content, the Remaster comes well with the players. Some players are looking forward to the ability to switch between the old and the new graphic at any time. This quickly becomes clear how much Blizzard has screwed there.

At the same time, however, it is also praised how much Blizzard has just did not do, namely on the gameplay. The Remaster remains true to the original in many points and adds meaningful quality-of-life improvements, as user Ziffibert writes on Reddit.
However, the community rates negatively further technical problems. It seems that there would be no limit for the pictures per second in the PC lobbies, which leads to graphics cards. A similar problem was the new MMORPG New World recently recently in his beta.
The most named problem theme is by far the lack of ultrawide support. These screens are not optimally recognized, instead of seeing more, you can only see black bars. This disturbs correspondingly many users.
Many bugs seem to be a problem, as the User TechnicalNobody Via Reddit notices: As a veteran, I found at least 3 dozen errors in these 2 files alone. And there are only the 10% of the content in which you [Blizzard] are self-confident enough to show it. That's nothing, what you can do in a month.
Could you already play the beta or are you still waiting for the free Open Beta? Or do you have enough of Blizzard's remasterer after the Warcraft 3 debacle? Write us your opinion in the comments.
Meanwhile, even the father of Diablo says: Blizzard died for me.
