Ashwalkers' developers talk about inspiration, design and choi

Post-apocalyptic games are growing lately, but let's face it - the vast majority of them include zombies or something that looks like zombies. Whether it is hardly clinging in The Last of Us: Part II or take the roofs in the next Dying Light 2, zombies have become a tote, that's why Ashwalkers, Although it is not as big as one or the other game, caught attention for its more discreet post-volcanic apocalypse.

The first game of Nameless XIII, co-founded by Hervé Bonin of Antod Entertainment, offers, with a small group, to cross the ashen desert, confronted with moral dilemmas while you try to survive. The design is austere and adjusted, entirely in gray levels but with lightning red.

Dark And Light First Impressions

"Sin City has been a great inspiration and pushed us in our artistic direction to add red because we saw that" okay, it works, we can try it, "said Creative Director Matteo Gaulmier in a recent interview.

"The only color you find in the game is the red, which was to use a color to indicate the danger or draw attention to a gray-scale environment. Especially when you find red, it's not good for your playthrough. So there is blood, you killed someone, you bleed, the danger is close, it comes back, etc.

However, developers have not only inspired comics. The narrative style based on the choices of Life Is Strange seems to be present, with 34 unique ends according to your choices.

"There is a soul in the game, and I think it's a common point with the life is strange_ is that every choice you make to a reason. There are consequences - if something happens later. You have the feeling of writing your own story with your choice. »

Of course, we all think that in an apocalypse, we would be peaceful survivors, but when the chips are exhausted, how do we know? They say that there are only nine square meals between us and anarchy, so try not to judge people if they become sort of the king of the cannibals or murder people on campfires. It's a dog world eating dog, after all, and when all for what you have to fight is your survival, who knows what you are capable of?

This can be a controversial opinion, but I think I would larger about five minutes in a post-apocalyptic setting. I do not want to live in a world without caffeine. Let us know how long you have lasted in the comments, on Twitter, or Facebook.
